At Scale, we believe that AI will dramatically improve the world, and our mission is to accelerate the development of AI. To help achieve this mission, we are looking for an HR Manager to partner with our team and develop our key Human Resources processes & systems for our St. Louis office.

Scale is growing rapidly, and we believe that a strong HR Manager will be critical to our success. This role is ideal for someone with proven experience and a drive for rolling out thoughtful and scalable initiatives. We are also looking for a thought partner and team player who loves collaborating on various projects with other members of the growing HR and People Operations team.

You will

  • Facilitate on-boarding and off-boarding for all St. Louis employees. You will be responsible for the coordination of all background checks, employment verifications, mandated training, and technology requests. 
  • Help define and execute the strategy and operating model for our contingent workforce, which will include but is not limited to: performance tracking, compliance and security requirements, and engagement.
  • Manage day-to-day HR-related tasks for our St. Louis office including HR records, timekeeping, and leave tracking. 
  • Oversee workplace operations. 
  • Wear multiple hats and pitch in where needed! 
  • Work in person at our St. Louis office.

Ideally you’d have

  • 5-7+ years of Human Resources experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of Human Resources programs and practices, including applicable state and federal employment laws and regulations.
  • An ability to identify and execute process improvements to make systems more streamlined and efficient Interest in working in a fast-paced, iterative environment. Open to changes in focus and direction as the business requires. 
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Bonus: Government contract experience.
