Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO)

We are looking for an Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO) to help us achieve our mission with our US Government customers and partners. We are looking for an industrial security career professional who can contribute to our growing business and mature programs that meet our Government security requirements. Scale offers a unique opportunity to partner with the FSO, General Counsel, and cybersecurity leadership to build a program from the ground up at a company that won its first US government prime contract in 2020 and looks to rapidly grow a classified workforce to over 100 people in 2021. This position can be located in either Washington, DC or St. Louis, Missouri.
Responsibilities
- Create, execute, and monitor the office security policies, procedures, and practices in compliance with our Government security requirements
- Administrate personnel security clearance processes to include coordinating initial clearance submissions and periodic reinvestigations of staff, providing guidance and instruction to staff to ensure completion of security paperwork, collection of ink or electronic fingerprinting of initial clearance candidates, and providing follow-up clearance report status on processed clearances to managers for specific contracts.
- Maintain all records in compliance with our security manual and COMSEC procedures
- Maintain all security documentation and files in accordance with DCSA requirements. Maintain FCL documentation and submission in accordance with DCSA requirements.
- Provide security support to Human Resources, Contracts, and Proposal teams.
- Advise personnel of their reporting requirements, both personal/administrative and compliance/incident-related reports.
- Conduct security trainings, briefings, and debriefings for staff across the organization
- Implement and follow policies in compliance with federal regulations, document control, visitor control, and security education of employees with knowledge of the government classified contract processes
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience as FSO or FSO-equivalent experience
- 6+ years experience in the security field
- BS/BA Degree required
- Active Top Secret USG security clearance and ability to continue to maintain the clearance is required
- Experience supporting federal contracting Programs/Projects
- Effective organizational skills and ability to juggle competing priorities
- A track record of taking initiative and being resourceful to accomplish ambitious goals
- Strong knowledge of NISPOM, ICDs, DoD Manuals, NIST 800-171, NIST 800-053 and other Government directives/policies with proven history of an effective security program
- Experience with JPAS, NISS, and e-QIPExperience in setting up and/or maintaining secure facilities
- Completion of FSO Program Management for Possessing (Preferred) Facilities or completion within twelve month from start date
