Qatar’s leadership has set an ambitious course for AI to serve its people, strengthen public institutions and create opportunities for future generations. We are honored to support that vision alongside the State of Qatar and the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT).
Today, we signed an agreement with United Development Company (UDC) to expand our presence in Qatar and establish a long-term home at The Pearl in Doha. The move builds on our five-year partnership with the State of Qatar and MCIT, announced at Web Summit Qatar 2025. It gives our team room to grow and reflects our confidence in the country’s future.
Investing in a country and its people
Qatar has shown the foresight to connect technological ambition with the development of its people and institutions. Digital Agenda 2030 brings together investment in digital infrastructure, government services, innovation and skills. It sets a clear direction for a knowledge-based economy in which technology expands what people and organizations can achieve.
Our own work in Qatar has a clear purpose: helping Qatar’s institutions realize this ambition and build AI that serves the country’s priorities and earns the confidence of the people who rely on it.
Today, our Doha team works alongside the State of Qatar across healthcare, justice, education and higher education, tourism and broader government. We provide the high-quality data that powers the world’s leading AI models, and through Scale Labs we develop the benchmarks and evaluations used to measure how advanced models perform, including Humanity’s Last Exam, built with the Center for AI Safety. We have also partnered with government AI evaluation bodies in the United States, the United Kingdom, Korea and Singapore to develop benchmarks and expand testing capacity. We bring that same rigor to our work in Qatar, with a focus on evaluating performance, supporting human oversight and developing the skills to operate and improve systems over time. The ALIF program, launched by MCIT in collaboration with Scale and delivered through the Qatar Digital Academy, provides hands-on AI training for technical and non-technical government employees, helping them apply these tools effectively and responsibly. We are proud to have helped nearly 6,000 government employees build the AI literacy, practical skills and confidence to put AI to work.
A lasting home at The Pearl
Our expanded office at The Pearl, nearly 2,000 square meters, will provide space for our growing team. Since our partnership was announced in 2025, our Doha team has grown to nearly 100 employees, close to 50% being technical engineers.
UDC has built The Pearl into an established waterfront community that brings together places to work and live, with hospitality, dining, retail and leisure amenities. For a company whose work depends on talented people collaborating over the long term, that quality of place matters. We are pleased to partner with UDC as we create a lasting home for our team in Doha.
