Companies across more and more industries are investing in artificial intelligence (AI) to power new products and transform existing ones. From autonomous cars/drones/robots to smarter utility sensors to natural language processing, these machine learning (ML) initiatives require reliable, custom data annotation pipelines.

We are looking to hire an operations manager to drive the architecture and execution of these data annotation pipelines for our most strategic customers. You will be working directly with customers’ ML teams to translate their ML goals into high-quality data annotation pipelines that leverage Scale’s evolving product suite. You will be coordinating and collaborating with every team at Scale - from Product to Supply to Sales - to ensure flawless execution on novel and evolving customer needs. Your insight into customer needs and feedback will inform Scale’s product roadmap and internal processes. Successful projects directly contribute to signing new customers and expanding Scale’s footprint with existing customers, which in turn accelerates the development of these customers’ AI applications. Your role will be pivotal to Scale’s growth and expanding capabilities.
You will:
  • Manage relationships with prospective technical customers, ranging from executives to the front-line, and deliver amazing experiences that make them excited to add Scale into their ML flow
  • Understand customers’ ML goals and collaborate with them to architect and spin up data annotation pipelines
  • Coordinate execution with our internal teams - Product, Supply, Sales, Engineering, Customer Operations, and more - owning SLAs and using analytics to align the appropriate resources
  • Collaborate with Product and technical teams to scope out and bridge product capability gaps
  • Be the voice of the customer to inform our internal processes and product roadmap
  • Support Sales in closing new deals and upsells while strategically identifying ways to make success repeatable and scalable
Ideally you’d have:
  • 4-8+ years of experience in a consulting, professional services, program management, or customer-facing role
  • A passion to excel and drive impact
  • The ability to learn quickly from new situations
  • Ownership, diligence, and effective collaboration when working across multiple workstreams
  • The ability to understand and balance internal and external stakeholder requirements, expectations, and needs
  • A structured, data-driven approach to problem solving
Nice to haves:
  • Prior experience at an API technology company and / or managing technical customers
